On the other hand, after the pandemic expansion of work from home, according to Grafton, companies discovered that the home office can have a negative effect on employees in several professions, whether it is teamwork or their psychological well-being. Some employers also perceive it from the point of view of performance and greater control of their employees.
"In many industries, the hybrid model will probably be the best way in the future as well, when employees alternate working from home and from the office. According to our analysis of the labor market, today less than a tenth of employees work exclusively from home - seven percent to be exact. Most of them are in the field of IT, up to 27 percent. On the contrary, we can most often find employees from the field of trade and marketing exclusively in the offices, up to 60 percent," explained Jitka Kouba, marketing director of Grafton Slovakia.
According to the agency, employees are currently increasingly exhausted from the amount of work. Therefore, more than ever before, the need to balance between work and free time is evident. According to the survey, approximately two-thirds of workers in the field of human resources, administration, law, finance, trade or marketing and three-quarters of workers in the field of IT also use one of the variants of work flexibility, thanks to which they gain time for themselves, their family or to care for household.
Certain forms of adjustment of working hours are also available to production workers. This is mainly about the possibility to work overtime or a flexible start and end of working hours. Although flexible working hours and home office are among the most requested benefits, according to Grafton, employers provide them to a much lesser extent than their employees would like.
"In this respect, the worst are white-collar employees, that is, working in offices, outside of IT employees. The possibility to work from home or flexible working hours would be welcomed by more than 90 percent of them, but only slightly more than half of them are given this possibility by their employers. For almost everyone, the possibility to organize their working time more freely is extremely important," added Kouba.
